Battery Safety

Use any e-cigarette at your own risk.  You may be at risk to personal injury and property damage if batteries or products are used incorrectly.

The DO’s

DO label & date batteries so you know how long they have been in use.  Throw away batteries after a year.

DO use a good quality intelligent charger to charge external batteries.

DO ensure your device is properly vented if using a mechanical mod.  Other mods have protective circuits.

DO remove batteries from the charger as soon as they are fully charged.

DO use the correct charger supplied with the kit when charging sealed batteries eg eGo, 510.

DO charge your battery on a fire retardant surface. Charging bags can limit any damage caused in the unlikely event of a malfunction.

DO read the instructions on your device before installing batteries. Only use the size and type of battery specified in the instructions.

DO insert the external batteries properly. Follow the symbols showing the correct way to position the positive (+) and negative (-) ends of the batteries.

DO keep the external battery contact surfaces clean by gently rubbing with a clean pencil eraser or cloth.

DO immediately remove exhausted batteries from your device and dispose of properly.

DO remove all batteries from the device at the same time and replace them with new batteries of the same size and type.

DO preserve battery life by switching off a device and removing the batteries when it is not being used, and is not expected to be used for extended periods of time.

DO practice proper battery storage by keeping batteries in a cool, dry place at normal room temperature. It is not necessary to store batteries in a refrigerator.

DO make sure the battery is capable and rated to generate the amps generated by your set up if you choose to sub-ohm.

DO replace batteries which have been damaged or the outer wrapping has been damaged showing the metal underneath.

The DON’Ts

DON’T over discharge your battery.

DON’T carry loose batteries in a pocket or purse with metal objects like coins, paper clips, etc. This can short-circuit the battery, leading to high heat or leakage.  Use a battery box.

DON’T stack batteries by placing one on top of the other in your device.  Use the correct sized battery for your device.

DON’T keep batteries within reach of children. If swallowed, batteries can become lodged in the oesophagus where they can cause serious injury or death in as little as two hours.

DON’T dispose of batteries in a fire – they may leak or rupture.

DON’T disassemble, crush, puncture, cut, short-circuit, incinerate, or expose to water, fire or high temperatures about 100°C or 212°F or otherwise damage batteries. This can result in leakage or rupture.

DON’T store batteries or battery-powered devices in hot places – elevated temperatures can lead to capacity loss, leakage or rupture.

DON’T mix old and new batteries, or mix different types or makes of batteries. This can cause leakage or rupture, resulting in personal injury or property damage.

DON’T leave a charging battery unattended.

DON’T over tighten the battery in the charger.

DON’T use or charge a battery with damaged wrappers.
